THE FACTORS
- Dislike Factor
Rain Lee
I don't think Rain can act AT ALL. Sorry to the Rain fans, I much prefer her in the modern series, I don't think she looks good in ancient series AT ALL. I dislike her character, dislike her chemistry with Bosco, and I have no idea why the producer chooses her to pair up with Bosco. These two has ZERO chemistry together! I hate the way she yells at Bosco, she always says, "Cerina likes you, so we can't be together. Treat Cerina better!" I am so tired of that line!
Cerina
I didn't think she improved a bit at all, she still can't act. This time, her character is totally useless, especially towards the end, she was sick all the time! Well, I do think she can cry a little, but I just don't like her character too much...
The Story
The entire story is suppose about Kung Fu, however, the best Kung Fu scene didn't show up until the very last episode, where Bosco and his father fighting against Rain's father. That was a great scene, I just wish those kung fu scenes can show often, however, I was so disappointed at the story-line. Everything goes so slow, nothing will drag your attention (other than Kwok Pong's death). If the producer cuts the series to a 10-episode series, I think it will be much better. I remember there is one episode where Rain was looking for a piece of evidence to prove that she is the rich man's daughter, it suppose to be a very simple thing, but they used an entire episode to find that stupid evidence... so dragging!
- Love Factor
Bosco Wong
He is the one and only reason you want to see this series. I think Bosco improves so much after "Find the Light", I loved his performances in this series so much. In fact, I began to love him because of this series even though I think the story-line sucked. Bosco was the only reason I kept watching the series, and I won't regret it! He is perfect to play the character of Wong Fei Hung!
Chan Kwok Pong
I didn't fall in love with this character until the very last episode, when he died! Such a pity! At the beginning, I didn't like him, because he is being unreasonable to Bosco and his father. Of course, he misunderstood many things. I can't blame him too much, but when he started to work for Rain's father, I was wishing Kwok Pong can become a better person. After he found out the truth about his misunderstandings, he becomes the undercover, and then, he died because he wanted to protect Bosco's father. What a great character! You might blame him for many things he did, but you will ending up loving him. Kwok Pong did an excellent job to play the lovely character.
Bosco and his father
Have you ever realized that Keung Tai Wai and Bosco look a little alike? Haha... they are not real father and son, but their chemistry was great as father and son! Keung Tai Wai is a strict father, very respectful man, he teaches Bosco a lot of things.
- How Come Factor
The Ending
There are not a lot of things happened in this story, but a lot happened in the end. Bosco was shot by Kwok Pong, Bosco was healed, Kwok Pong was helping Keung Tai Wai and Bosco secretly, Bosco told Rain to be careful with her dad, Rain refuses to believe him, Kwok Pong died, Bosco and his father captured Rain's father, Rain left, Bosco accepts disciples, Rain came back, the end... yeah... you got my point here. There are something just don't connect, for example, Rain said she will never come back to Foshan, but the next you know, she is back and willing to be with Bosco...
THE COMMENTS
- The Performances
Best Actor Award goes to the one and only Bosco! I love his Wong Fei Hung very much! I will like to give the best supporting actor award to Kwok Pong, he is amazing for playing a "bad"-good guy! To Bosco's disciples (Sammul, Dickson, Chan Kwan), all of them are great! Also, to Kenneth, he really surprised me! I think Kenneth's character is very lovely. As for the female casts, I didn't like Rain, I didn't like Cerina, but I liked Winnie Yeung, how surprised? I remember I hated her in Square Pegs, but I really think her character in this series is very good. I love the way she speaks English to Bosco and Keung Tai Wai
- The Storyline
BORING, DRAGGING, DISAPPOINTING, these are the only 3 words I can say!
- Worth Watching?
NO, if you are looking for kung-fu scenes. YES, if you are a Bosco fan, if you are not yet a Bosco fan, you will become his fan after watching this one. NO, if you are a Rain fan, she will disappoint you. Don't give too much of expectations into this series, then you will be fine.
