Jessica and Myolie: (I don't really like Jessica's short hair... As for Myolie, she lost so much weight in a very short amount of time, it's amazing, I don't know who she does it)

Raymond and Ron: (Hot! Hot! Hot!)

New Series Filming: Chilam & Kenix in Mainland

Chilam Cheung and Kenix Kwok, they are one of my most favorite TVB on-screen couple in the early 90s. However, they only have one series together to act as a couple, the series is called "Remembrance", which is also one of my favorite drama. The series was produced in 1993, after more than 10 years, Chilam and Kenix will be building another chemistry in a Mainland production. This time, both of them are no longer signing contracts with TVB... It is sad to see more and more TVB stars leaving TVB and starting a new career in Mainland, however, that's their choices, and I respect that.

Chilam & Kenix - Yesterday & Today

In 1993, after the success of the Chilam-Kenix chemistry, there was a rumor that Kenix likes Chilam. I am not so sure how true that was. But, a lot of people said Frankie Lam looks like Chilam Cheung, that's why Kenix and Frankie dated. That's just rumors, don't treat it too seriously.

Today, Kenix is married to Frankie, and both of them will start a career in Mainland. Today, I don't think Chilam and Frankie look alike anymore...

TVB Stereotypes - Derek Kwok

Derek Kwok, a famous supporting actor in TVB, who worked for TVB since 1985. Derek is a hard worker, however his long career in TVB didn’t make him the main star, instead, we known him as the Kung Fu Master or the Gangster. Once a while, he will play a successful business man who has a warm heart, but we often forgot about his kindness because he played too many evil roles.

What makes Derek evil?
Derek has many special facial expressions to make him look evil.
The Evil Laugh – no matter in modern or ancient series, the evil Derek’s evil laugh will make you panic.

The Big Eyes – whenever Derek makes his eyes bigger, you know he will do something evil.

The Calm Look – before the storm, you will feel the calm, this is how you can describe Derek’s calm look before he is about to do something bad.

Derek’s body language can also be very evil.
The Thinking Mode – must be thinking how to do bad stuff

The Smoking Mode – all modern villains smoke

What makes Derek the Kung Fu Master?
Derek knows Kung Fu, he is really good at it too. He can be nice or evil when he plays the Kung Fu Master. How do you tell the difference, just look at his eyes, his eyes can talk. Usually, small eyes = good Derek, big eyes = evil Derek.

TVB stereotype - Power Chan

Stereotypes are ideas held by some individuals about members of particular groups, based solely on membership in that group. They are often used in a negative way. In the world of TVB, we as the audiences are often use stereotypes to define different actors and actresses.

Today, let's talk about Power Chan. Whenever I think about Power, I think about his two types of characters: the evil, mean and modern character & the smart, funny and ancient character.

Evil Power Chan
It is easy to identify the evil Power, he will always wear glasses, and he will always play the rich kind. So, whenever you see Power in glasses, you can assume he will play evil, especially if he is in a Modern series.

Good Power Chan
It is even easier to identify the good Power, that is when he is in an Ancient series, especially when he has the mustache, you know you will love his character to death.

It is easy to love and hate Power Chan, because when he plays a good character, he is really funny, really smart, and you will never forget his character. However, when he plays a bad character, you will hate him to the bone and forget about him easily. At the end, you will still like him as an actor and wishing him to act in more Ancient series... and not wearing glasses ;-)
