What Have I Watched?!
Today, I just realized I have not yet missed one single series in 2006, that means I did not skip one series (so far), and I am not planning to skip any series this year, that will make an record...The Best Series to Waste Your TimeWatching series like "The Bitter Bitten", "A Pillow Case of Mystery", "Au Revoir Shanghai" and "The Dance of Passion" (most episodes) is like a total waste of time, because the story weren't attractive at all. Sometimes, you will get lost, you won't really sure what the producer is trying to do in these series. However, you don't want to skip these series because it is just too hard to skip Benny, Bosco, Ada, Kenix or Charmain's series. The Two or Three Days Weekend SeriesThere are also some series you can watch within two days, but forget the storyline in the 6th day, and those series are like: "Love Guaranteed", "Under The Canopy of Love" and "Trimming Success". If you got nothing to do in a short or a long weekend, these series will be perfect for you. The Meaningful, Educational and Emotional OnesIf you wish to learn something, besides your heavy school books, then watch series like, "Safe Guards" "Le Femme Desperado", "Men in Pain", or even "Forensic Heroes" and "Bar Benders", there are lots of different things to learn from these series. These are also the most recommended series of the year. The Ones You Can Skip, BUT Someone Is In It...Sometimes, you want to skip a series, but you choose not to, because this person and that person are in the series. For example, for "Lethal Weapons of Love and Passion", I can come up with lots of reason to skip it, but I can not do that because Bosco and Raymond are in it. Same thing apply to "War and Destiny", you just can not skip Ron and Leila's series. Current Recommendation:I am currently watching "Face to Fate" right now, and I am really enjoying the series, even though the theme-video looked strange and the outfits looked cheesy. But, I really miss those fantasy type of story. "Face to Fate" is bring all the dark moments back... so, you should give it a try as well ;-)
New Series Filming: Steven and Shirley
New series filming, starring Steven Ma and Shirley Yeung. Chinese people often say, "Gods' secrets can never be revealed (天机不可泄漏)", but in this new series, the gods' secrets can be predicted. It sounds like a supernatural, fantasy type of series. The casts include my beloved Steven Ma, I am very exicted to see him in an ancient series. This time, he will be pair up with Shirley. Looking at the pictures below, Shirley's outfit looks strange. Is the third picture Mimi Lo? I am not very sure who that person is...
Raymond and and Yirong
It is fun to read the celebrities' blog sometimes, but I won't take my time trying to find all the celebrity blogs out there. Today, I just happen to "pass by" Taiwan super-star Chen Yirong's Blog. She is one of my most favorite Taiwanese star and her series "Lavender" poisoned my mind forever.
On her blog, I found two pictures with Raymond and her together. I couldn't stop saying, "awww.....", so I decided to share with you guys:
Caption: felt asleep while listening to a song
Caption: filming with Raymond Lam
Isn't this sweet? The series Yirong is filming with Raymond is called "Love Multiplication", which is based on a romantic novel.
2006 Miss Hong Kong
** Show reviewed by tvbsquare, pictures credit to sina.com and tvbsquare.comFor complete screen captures, please visit here. This is a short review for those of you who haven't watched the show, but will like a little preview; or for those of you who already watched the show, but willl like to know what my thoughts were; or for those of you who will never watch the show, but will like to know what went wrong...
Most common line from family members: (everyone said this line!)At the beginning, each contestant has a family member walk with her. Each family member will say a line, and all of them mentioned the word: mature. The most common line was: During the past three months, I realized my daughter became more matured. Most Unchanged Situation:The Emcee - still the ones and only - Eric Tseung and Natalis Chan.
The Most Boring Part:1. When Eric and Natalis talking to each other. Especially when they talking to Miss Di Na about how to improve the quality of the Emcee. That part made me felt asleep.2. The Childhood part, maybe because I really didn't care about those baby outfits. Those kids looked way better than the contestants. Most Annoying Factor:When the contestants answer the question in Cantonese and English together. In one short sentence, they can jump from Cantonese to English all the sudden. If you can't speak Cantonese, then don't force youself... there is nothing wrong with speaking English. Most Immature Contestant:#12, Tiffany Tse, after she said Beauty and Beast is her favorite book, she provided a very strange reason, then she just walked off. Very immature maner. I am wondering how much did she really matured. Later on, she claimed that she did said "thank you" before she walked away. Well, no one heard that...
Worst Outfit:
Other than those baby outfits, I hate this green dress the most, it's too dark, and the color doesn't even match well.

Worst Post #1:tvbsquare: "Hello! Mr... this is Miss Hong Kong show, not yours."
Worst post #2:little girl wondering: "You don't have to lift it, it's short enough!"
Worst post winner:Ms. Di Na - The Emcee who likes to talk a lot. She also likes to put her left hand in her pocket, that's the number one thing an Emcee should not do. At the same time, she is speaking about how to improve the quality of Emcee. Well, she should consider change her post first. Even Eric thought her post was funny, so he did the same thing...
The Fashion @ 2006 Miss Hong Kong
One year after another, I got tired about the Miss Hong Kong show. However, I can never get tired of the fashion. As long as you wear good outfits, you will look good. So, for this year's miss hong kong show, let's not talk about the winners, let's focus on fashion.
pictures credit to: tvb.com and sina.com
The Wedding outfits:
This is the first time I saw the Miss Hong Kong contestants wearing wedding outfits. As I said many days ago, girls look the best in the wedding outfits.

The Evening Gowns:
I am little tired of looking at the evening gowns, it's not anything like the Oscars, but TVB already tried its best to make it look at the Oscars. This year's gowans were way too casual, and way too simple.

The QiPao:
If you have the body, you will look excellent in QiPao, that's the way it is. However, this year's outfits were so grey and so disappointing.

The Swimming Outfits:
This is always the highlight of the show, but I don't see anything new this year.

What is this? The Baby Outfits?
I don't get it? Why do you even want to wear this? What's so special about it?
Preview: The Departed
The Departed, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg and Jack Nicholson is base on the Hong Kong movie, Infernal Affairs. The Departed will be out in October of this year, which is only a few years after the sucess of Infernal Affairs.Infernal Affairs is a master-piece, no doubt about that. This is why the Hollywood decided to remake this movie. Originally, the casting includes Leo and Brad, but now, Matt Damon replaced Brad Pitt's spot in this movie...The Setting: Boston vs. Hong Kong. I haven't go to Boston before, and I never heard too much about the Boston gangsters. So, it will be interesting to see the movie in the American's perspective.
The casts:
Tony vs. Leo: I used to be a fan of both, and now, I am still a huge fan of Tony, because he is so hot and so talented. As for Leo, the love fades through out the years. Now, I don't have any anticipation about his acting.
Matt vs. Andy: Sorry, I have to tell you the truth, I like Matt more than Andy. Andy is a much better singer, but Matt is a brilliant actor. It is a little hard to imagine Matt playing the villain role, but I am looking forward to his performances.
Jack vs. Eric: This is a strange match. Both are brillant actors, but can Jack portray this role better than Eric? I am holding my doubts. One is the movie king of Hollywood, the other is the movie king of Hong Kong. This is the battle of the performances.
The others? So far, I still can't tell who will be play Anthony Wong's role, from the trailer, I could not tell too much. If you are interested to view the trailer, please click here. You can see a lot of similarities between The Departed and Infernal Affairs... Usually, the remake is worse than the original, for this movie, it will be the same, it will be impossible to top Infernal Affairs. We will see how this movie will turn out to be...
Pictures of the Month - Simple Yoyo Mung
World Trade Center, the movie

9/11, World Trade Center, I believe all of you still remember that day. Two famous towers collapsed, thousands of people died, and the whole world changed. Five years later, I wasn't ready to "re-experience" the tragic, but I was invited to watch the sneak preview of the movie called "World Trade Center", directed by Olive Stone, starring Nicolas Cage and Michael Pena. The movie is based on a true story of Will Jimeno and John McLoughlin, two Port Authority police officers who rushed into the burning World Trade Center on 9/11 to help rescue people, but became trapped themselves when the tower collapsed.
The story is not about the World Trade Center itself, but focused on these two police officers entirely, and how the others rescued them. To me, that's a disappointment of the movie. If the title of the movie change to "Jimeno and McLoughlin", I will feel much better.
The casts were amazing, they made the entire movie emotional, even thought the movie is only about two guys. We get to see the main characters' family, and their hard times...
The rescue: this movie is about the rescue, but we only get to see two police got rescued. To me, that's another disappointment. What about the other people? What about the other families? What about the people inside the World Trade Center? Back to the rescue mission, after the two police officers got trapped, the day passed by, during the night time, everyone gave up the rescue mission. Only two US Marines were there to try to find the survivors. What's wrong with this rescue mission? Why the others were not trying? Maybe the air is so hard the breathe, maybe the night is too dark, there could be many reasons... Anyways, after the survivors were found, many people showed up to help, that's a very nice thing, but I just wished there were more people to find the survivors...
The thinking: if you want to watch a movie and cry, go ahead and watch this movie. As for me, I watched the movie in a different point of view, can't blame me, I am not American, and I think like Asian. I feel the pain about the tragic, but I can also blame the rescue strategy. I feel sad about the heroes who can not come back, but I want to know the other people's story even more...
New Series Filming: Sunny + Angela
New series filming: the suprise, the unique and the nightmare
The surprise: Angela Tong taking the leading role. This was a little surprise to me, but if TVB doesn't promote her now, it will be hard to promote her later.

The unique: According to the news, different casts will play very strange characters. Sunny is the executioner, Angela is the Miao tribe lady.

The nightmare: just look at the picture below. It scares me.
