TVB Square's 101 Must Watch Countdown cont.
TVB Square presents 101 Must Watch Countdown:
The countdown will last 9 more days. This countdown can be helpful in terms of what series you should rent or rewatch. By the way, the timeline for my entire list is anywhere from the 80s to 2005

#81: Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain 99 - Felix Wong, Sunny Chan, Maggie Siu
The most popular version, and the best one. I don't think anyone else will make another version of this story, because it's not as famous. However, this storyline grabbed my attention for years.
#80: When Rules Turn Loose - Liza Wong, Myolie Wu, Sammul Chan, Ha Yu, Waynei Lai
#79: Return of the Condor Heroes 95 - Louis Koo, Carmen Lee
#78: To Get Unstuck in Time - Roger Kwok, Flora Chan
#77: Witness to a Prosecution 2 - Bobby Au Yeung, Charmaine Sheh, Stephen Au, Joyce Tang
#76: Net Deception - Wong Hei, Myolie Wu, Eddie Kwan
#75: Trust of A Life Time - Roger Kwok, Amy Kwok
#74: Man of Wisdom - Ada Choi, Lawrence Cheng, Rain Lau
#73: The Criminal Investigator - Felix Wong, Sunny Chan, Kenix Kwok
#72: The Edge of Righteousness - Alex Man, Dicky Cheung, Monica Chan, Jessica Hsuan
For some reason, this will always be my favorite Dicky Cheung series, however, I can almost guarantee that 90% of you never watched this one before. This is the must-watch series of Dicky, especially if you love older TVB series.

I saw The Edge of Righteousness and liked it alot too. I kept watching the part when Athena was in coma and Dicky called into the radio station to sing for her. I felt bad for Jessica to be with Alex Man. He was freaky! I never got to watch the end though because the last tape was missing at my shop. Did Dicky end up with Athena or Monica?

I saw Edge of Righteousness way back when it first came out. In fact, I still remember that it was the top TVB series for that year. Was a TVB freak then. Both The Greed of Man and Racing Peak were my faves back then and turned me on to TVB. Been a fan ever since even though I have tone down my viewing schedule somewhat. And fyi, The Greed of Man remains my all time favorite TVB series but Racing Peak has since dropped off the radar.
I agree that EOR is Dicky's best TVB series ever. Back then he still hasn't developed into the irritating twerp he is now (soryy Dicky fans, but he is very irritating in all the characters he played nowadays) but Alex Man who is still quite popular then was superb as the psycho doctor with a very severe case of tunnel vision, obsessed with pursuing justice (or his version of it) right to the very end. I sympathise with Jessica (who is in her first serial here I think) and also with the supposed villain Kent Cheng. The line was so blurred at the end that you can't distinguished whether Kent Cheng's character was really evil or because he was pushed to the extreme by Alex Man. The love triangle between Dicky, Monica Chan and Athena Chu was another entertaining factor. And personally I was disappointed that Dicky chose (SPOILER) Athena over Monica in the end (END SPOILER). Those who already watched the series will understand why.
Both the starting and ending theme songs for EOR are two versions of the same song sung by Andy Lau. The starting one was a more fast- paced up-tempo version of the song while the ending theme song was a slower, balladic version with changed lyrics as well.
And finally, I do not agree that this version of Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain (with Sunny Chan and Charmaine) is the best version. Popular maybe but not the best. And it certainly did not strike a chord with me. In fact I consider it a traversty. The version with Ray Lui and Patrick Tse is still my fave. But that's imho of course :-)

Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain was an awesome series, I loved it so much. When Rules Turn Loose is okay, but I wouldn't place it above Flying Fox. Return of the Condor Heroes deserve a higher place in my opinion--but that's just me.

bosco1978, thanks for the spoiler. I personally favor Athena more than Monica, so I am quite happy with Dicky's choice then. However, Monica did give more into the relationship than Athena. I guess, you can't weigh relationship though. :-)
Anyway, really nice list, tvbsquare. I can't to see your top 10.
