TVB Square's Parental Guide
Rating Symbols adopted from: http://www.tvguidelines.org/ratings.asp
TVB series is suitable for ALL Children:
True - I heard that a lot of fans starting to watch TVB when they were 2 or 3 years old! I am not sure how much can you remember from the TVB series when you were that young, but, clearly, if a 2 or 3 years old can watch TVB series, then TVB series is suitable for all children.
False - None of TVB series is animated. Children from ages 2-6 love to watch animation, why do they even need to watch TVB?
Directed to Older Children:
True - I began to watch TVB when I was 7 or 8, don't really remember. But, that's a perfect age to start watching TVB series, because we already developed the skills to understand things on television.
False - there are suspence dramas, kiss scenes, death scenes, gun shootings, bleeding moments, almost everywhere in TVB series. Do I need to tell you to grab your parent to watch the series with you?
TVB = perfect for general audience:
True - 99% agree, there is no bad language in TVB series. It's suitable for all ages. No matter if you are 10 or 100 years old.
False - 1% agree, once an often, you will bump into a violence scene. Once an often, you will see fake blood running around. Once an often, you will see creepy character or a scary moment which can make you sleepless.
Parents Guidance Suggested:
True - take my statement above, you will expect to see creepy characters, twisting plots, unforgettable death scenes. Also, you will encounter "interesting" kiss scenes, which can make fans go hyper.
False - most of above, we can handle without grabbing a parent aside (if we are older than 10).
Mature Audience Only:
True - 0%, there is no way, TVB will make something that will totally shock you, and contain major graphic violence or rude language.
False - 100%, it's a fact, TVB doesn't make series for adults-only.
How to Draw the Line? I have no idea, you decide it youself.

Picture 1: A Step Into the Past
What? Raymond Lam dropps the baby
You may think any baby-killing scene is not for kids to watch, you might think again, because this particular baby-killing wasn't scary after all.
Picture 2: ATE 2
What? One of the most classic gun scene of TVB
There are too many TVB scenes related to weapons, how do you know if they are suitable for kids to watch? Are sword fights easier to accept than gun shootings? How many guns need to be showed on TV until someone decided to call TVB and complain?
Picture 3: RDOV
What? It's only a kiss!
TVB kiss scenes are not very technical, you don't need to cover your eyes while watching any of that.

Picture 4: The Academy
What? A typical scene with blood
If you can handle orange juice, you can handle any TVB blood scenes. Accept it, they look fake.
Picture 5: Greed Mask
What? Creepy moments
A man speaking a woman's voice, a man who is a woman, that's about the most creepy thing TVB can ever come up with, and it totally made me sleepless. But, the second time I watched it, I was laughing. Yes, it's creepy, but also fun to watch.
Picture 6: RDOV
What? A Bed Scene!
That's about the furthest shot TVB can ever do on a bed scene, don't worry, it is suitable for all ages, but I don't recommend you to watch it if you are under 10.
The bottom line is: TVB series is suitable for all ages (kind of), if there is a need to complain, you might need to watch more American TV series.

I remember thinking to myself during the Ron kiss and bed scene that he was quick. Must have alot practice. Elaine must be very strong to handle Ron sitting her like that. But I agree, at most it was PG, not that bad.

Haha, I remember one of my friend's mom saying something like "No matter what TVB series can't be so bad" "Bad" refering to Sexual stuff... thats what I guess she was referring to... I don't think she was refering to volience. I forgot exactly how she worded it but I think you get the point. I laughed because its so true. The furthest TVB ever gotten was a bed scene... Think DIF IV. Actually I was surprised that TVB would go so far. Woo LJ!
TVB refers to sex quite often... almost every series.
