Measures of Popularity

Everyone is talking about TVB Weekly Popularity Award results recently, so I am feeling like dropping some of my own thoughts here. (you can see some of the pictures at the Gallery section of TVB Square: http://www.tvbsquare.com/gallery.htm) Ok, here are the winners: Most Popular Overall - Gigi Lai; Most Popular Male - Bowie Lam; Most Popular Female - Gigi Lai; Most Popular Male Idol - Ron Ng; Most Popular Female Idol - Myolie Wu; Most Popular Male Host - Eric Tsang; Most Popular Female Host - Carol Cheng; Most Popular Male in Ancient Style - Ron Ng; Most Popular Female in Ancient Style - Gigi Lai; Most Popular Personality - Dayo Wong; Most Popular Action - Yuen Wah; Most Popular Comedy - Dayo Wong; Most Popular Show - War and Beauty.

Well, the way people vote for this award is to fill out the forms in the TVB Weekly magazine, so, that means, only Hong Kong people have the access to vote for the awards. That means, the oversea people do not count!!!! After looking at the results, I can clearly tell the major difference between Hong Kong people and oversea people, that is: in HK, it is the "behind-the-scenes" managers sets your popularity level, not the fans; in overseas, there are no managers behind, only the fans, who will increase your popularity. Gigi Lai is a perfect example, she is way so popular in HK, but very under-rated in overseas. She wins all the awards in HK, but she never wins any of TVB Square polls! I am sure Gigi has a lot of fans in overseas, but that doesn't means she has more fans in HK... you get my point here? I think she is really smart, because she builds good relationship with the TVB managers. You see, this is the way to be popular in HK!!!!

The Next War and Beauty

It is not surprised that TVB is going to do a modern version of "War and Beauty" after its success. It is not surprised that TVB will use most of the stars from "War and Beauty". It is not surprised that they will change the main lead (the new main lead is Ada Choi). It is not surprised they will make lots of villains (Bowie plays the villain this time). But, it is surprise to see the character designs for this new show (please see the pictures below). I don't really like the character designs, everyone looks strange other than Charmaine and Gigi.

What am I Watching?

Starting today, I will be watching Misleading Track, I heard lots of good comments about that series, so I am going to watch it! I am still waiting for The Academy to complete its release, that might take a while. You see, I like to watch a whole series in few days, so that I will enjoy it more. I don't have the patients wait and watch one episode a day. If I watch it slow, I will forget a lot of details, and my review will be dull. If I watch it in just a few days, I will have enough stuff to talk about... hehe.. I guess this is one of my secrets.

A Moment of Silence

What is it like to lose someone or some pet that is so close to you? What is it like to watch someone or some pet in your family pass away? Today, I have experienced it all. People says pets are not like human, people doesn't care if you have to skip your work or school because of a pet. People says human are more important, people thinks family emergency does not include a pet. Whatever the people thinks or says. All I know is that I lost my closest friend, my dearest sister, and my sweetest family member today. Of course, I am in the worst mood I ever had for so many years....

It's hard the believe, but I am sharing this with you because I could not hide everything inside of my heart, otherwise I will go crazy. Thank you for reading this post, I hope you guys understand my feelings. No matter if you have a religion or not, please pray for Buffy (that is my dog's name), we wish her the best....

Keep you occupied

It is not surprised to have many of you come to TVB Square everyday! Did I say everyday? That sounds cool, isn't it? As a webmaster, I love people to come everyday. However, I don't have the time to update the site everyday. The current materials in TVB Square might keep someone occupied for a while. How long takes you to read every single thing in TVB Square? How much longer you will feel like you want something new? To keep everyone occupied, I came up with this TVB Square Blog, and my own TVB Square fan fiction. I want the visitors to find something new once a while, that is also why I changed my banners once a while. However, there are something I don't change too often, like the polls, hmm, I guess I should do a weekly poll instead, but if I do that, I need lots of poll ideas to back me up. I NEED THE POLL IDEAS!
