TVB and me

People always ask me about my obsession with TVB, when I start to watch the series, what is my favorite series and stars. What did TVB influenced me? How did TVB series affecting my life? All the sudden, I felt like a person under the spotlight, and everyone else is taking a closer look at my interests...

Well, I started watching TVB in the early 90s. Don't remember too much back then, all I remember was that I had a huge crush on Tong Leung for the longest time (I am still obsessed with him). I began to obsess with TVB in 1998 (Obsess means I am watching one series after another). Not sure why I got obsessed, may be I got nothing to do back then, all I wanted was to watch television. Anyways, TVB influenced me in a lot of ways. I wanted to be a firefighter after watching Burning Flame, which turned out to be my favorite series of all time. However, after finding out how hard it is to become a female firefighter, I gave up that idea totally. Then, I wanted to become a doctor or a nurse after watching Healing Hands, but gave up on that after watching HH2. I thought about being a detective after watching DIF series, but changed my idea to become a pilot after watching Triumph in the Skies. I got creative after watching ATE, and began to publish my reviews after watching Secret of My Heart (BF was my first review). I was crazy enough to set up TVB Square more than 3 years ago, and still obsessed enough to maintain it and keep it going and going. Then, I found out I am having sudden crushes with TVB stars one after another, every once a while, if you ask me who is my favorite star, I will tell you a different name. Because, I "switch" them too often. The good thing is, I am only obsessed with one star at a time (I am not the one-foot-step-on-2-boats person). For some stars, I will have a long obsession, which I can not get over with. For the others, I can "get over" with them in just couple weeks. Sounds like you?

When you want something special happen in your life, but people keeps telling you, "you watch too much TV!" How do you feel? Well, people tells me that all the time. A lot of things happened in TV doesn't happen in the real life, but sometimes, I just got stuck with the fiction world, and not thinking about the real world. I pay closely attention to the love stories, imaging the perfect love story, trying to pick up pieces of information, and set my potential really high... I am now becoming a person with full of imaginations, I guess that is a good thing.

I used to have a hate list and a love list for all TVB related stuff. If you read my earlier reviews (I use the word "Hate Factor" a lot), you can clearly tell who I hate and who I love. But, then, I realized hate and love is only one fine line away from each other. One day, someone in my hate list can become one of the top ones in my love list. So, why do I bother hating them anyway? If you read my later reviews, I used the word "Dislike Factor" instead, you see the differences? I belive some of you are experiencing this as well. It is hard to have a good first impression on anyone. Not everyone is hot as Louis Koo and talented as Tony Leung. So, learning not to hate any stars or series was one of my biggest accomplishments as a TVB super fan ;-)
