Wong Hei just so happens to be transferred to the same team as captain of the team, previously CID. He is a loner, cold to everyone. Wong Hei chases after her, and he comforts her telling that she is not responsible for her family that she cannot take care of her family for the rest of her life. Wong Hei gave Jessica a lot of help and encouragement during this time and they drew closer. Wong Hei taught her that swimming could help her like it helped him. He drove her to get the report. Jessica gets the results and it turns out that she did not contract HIV, overwhelmed with joy she hugs and kisses Wong Hei, they soon get together right after. [I would summarize this part, but it so much better than any words I can use to describe it] During one of the operations Wong Hei realizes that he is unable to pull the trigger. He writes his resignation letter, and Jessica tries to stop him. He shuts himself out including Jessica, throwing her helmet making a scratch on it. A paintball game is organized so that they can help him overcome this. Moon purposely loses. He was able to overcome this and he put a boo boo sticker on the scratch, saying, “I'm sorry? Siu Yau is the daughter of the convict that Wong Hei shot and killed. She is mentally unstable. Wong Hei helps her; with his help and concern Siu Yau gets back on the right path. Jessica also tries to help but later gets jealous when he spends too much time with her and even lying about where he was. They break off, and its not because of Siu Yau its because they were the same type of person, arguing too much. Siu Yau and Wong Hei gets very close, with both sides having feelings for each other. But she does not want to go into a relationship because of her mother. But when her father's ex-lover kills her mother, she is devastated and hides from Wong Hei. Later she is found taking drugs, Wong Hei and Jessica tries to help her. When Wong Hei found out that she has AIDS, he lets her go. Jessica tries to help Wong Hei with this devastating blow. He celebrates her Birthday with her, and makes her last days happy. She soon passes away. Ah Kit [Raymond Cho], Wong Heir's brother have set eyes on Jessica since their first encounter, but since she was dating his brother has kept quite all this time. When Jessica and Wong Hei break, she takes this chance. The chase ends up a success and Jessica becomes his girlfriend. Overtime Jessica sees that they are completely different people and they cannot be together. She breaks from him; also finding out that her heart has always been with Wong Hei. Wong Hei during an operation he accidentally shoots Queenie. He is unable to cope with the fact that he had shot and killed another person, his own team member. Yet again Jessica tries to comfort him, but he says that he just needs space and time. Soon after he hangs out with the gangs, and on the wrong path. Jessica tries to steer him on the right path again but he does not weaver. He even breaks Jessica's leg with a pole one time when she tried to stop him. When Jessica goes for a walk and purposely goes pass Wong Heir's apartment, Wong Hei seeing her their kisses the gang leader's daughter, Jacky. Jessica is hurt by this but it is seen that Wong Hei still cares for her as he squeezes part of his motorcycle so hard that his hand bleeds. When Ah Sek confronts him about how he has change he gave him Ah Moon's helmet. He tells one of the gang members to throw it away. Later he is in the alley fiercely opening the trash bags trying to find the helmet. When he finds it he breaks down and cries hugging the helmet tightly. Jacky sees all this and becomes jealous and does not trust him. It turns out that Wong Hei is actually undercover trying to catch the gang leader. Jacky comes out loose, seeking revenge on Wong Hei, killing his father and trying to kill his whole family and also Jessica and her family. Jessica tries to get back together with Wong Hei but it fails as he says he does not love her. To lure her out Wong Hei figures out the only ways is to marry Jessica. He plans a fake marriage. On the day of the wedding Jessica is kidnapped and tried to a post in the harbor. Wong Hei and Jacky have a shootout on boats. Wong Hei sees Jessica drowning and shoots a bullet at the rope allowing her to go free. But Jacky takes this opportunity to shoot Wong Hei. He falls in the water. Just about when she is ready to shoot at Jessica, Wong Hei appears out of the waters and shoots Jacky in the head, instantly killing her. Wong Hei is grabbing to the side of the boat. They both smile at each other, and Wong Hei lets go and vanishes into the murky waters of the harbor. Jessica frantically searches for him in vain even when they try to bring her up on the boat, but Jessica keeps searching. The Factors The Hate Couple: Liza and Danny- I cannot believe how many scenes they had. It was BORING, and I'm pretty sure that most agree. If they cut their scenes in half it would be ok, I can deal with that. I fast-forwarded half their scenes anyways. At the end of the series it wasn't too bad, their scenes were limited and the proposal was kind of sweet. ICQ, nice? Characters: Jacky- If there was one thing you hated the most it was Jacky, I didn't sympathize her one bit. She was so cold, making Danny kill his ex-lover. Nope nothing, and at the end she cause everything to go wrong for everyone in the end. Siu Yau- Well you will begin to hate her when she comes in between Jessica and Wong Hei. BUT you will sympathize her later on. I had a little trouble accepting her because duh she causes trouble for Jessica and Wong Hei but the actress seems very fake, nerveless she won and her ending was rather sad. Also the fact the helmet also meant something to their relationship. That bothered me. Ming's superior: You hate him, for one he got Wong Hei to do undercover, not taking him out when it was getting very dangerous. And because of this undercover operation causes this whole mess. Also another undercover operation Queenie's. Everyone thought she was dead but it turns out that she got her to do undercover work and planned the “death?of Queenie to cover it. Actor: Everyone did a pretty good job, just some were extremely boring. Scene: Almost every scene with Liza and Danny?snooze The Love Couple: Jessica and Wong Hei- Their chemistry was amazing, either as friends or a couple they were just great. You wished that they were together longer, you know if they get together by episode 4 out of a 32 episodes series, something is going to go wrong. Well it did. Their relationship was too short, though you will remember their scene throughout the series. The swimming, the helmet, the chats on the stair, all meant something. And the ending will kill you; you wished will all your heart for them to be together, yet it was never meant to be. Characters: Kong: I loved his character, he was cold and a loner in the beginning and Moon changed him, and he revealed his true personality. Moon: Either as friend or girlfriend to Kong she never gave up on him. Always trying to help him in anyway she can, steering him in the right path. Scenes: When Jessica forces Wong Hei to let her dry his hair with the hairdryer. When Jessica gets negative for AIDS and kissed Wong Hei, later Wong Hei puts the helmet on her signifying that he want to have a relationship. Wong Hei takes Jessica swimming to cool down. We have to admire their swimming skills?and the chemistry between them. Heurng Gu ask Sek if he loves her Wong Hei asks someone to throw Jessica's hemlet to the trash can, but later on, Wong Hei dig out the hemlet and crying. This is when Jacky knows he still loves Jessica. When Jessica throws the glass at the wall and Wong Hei says “Before in the Kitchen that's the same reason I broke the glass?/p> Any Jessica and Wong Hei scenes The theme song: Sung by Eason Chan, I felt that it was perfect for the series. But what I liked about it more was it was played throughout the series. There were 2 instrumental versions one Piano and one Flute. It was played at the right scenes and you will love the themesong so much more. Wong Hei sang one of the sub themes, To Love Like the Sea. When you watch the MV there is a whole different meaning to it. Actors: I love so many of them! Wong Hei and Jessica did a great job. Jade was great as well, I still remember her pervious series Burning Flames. Love or Hate Factor? The Ending and MV: You will cry your hearts out in the last couple of episodes. I used like half a box of tissues. And I still hurts every time I think about it. The look on their faces as they looked at each other. I don't think I will ever forget that. Summarized in last paragraph of Kong and Moon. I thought it was very clever especially with the numbers 14237348. Only in the MV to Love Like the Sea, do you get the answer. One of the scenes Wong Hei is writing something and buries the letter. The MV is quite heartbreaking as we see that Jessica has been frantically searching for him, the numbers on her cell, ICQ, any possible way the numbers could be used to find Wong Hei. Well the numbers are the coordinates to the letter. Jessica figures this out and reads the letter. Its writes:
This tells Moon that he was lying before when he said that he didn't love her. But that she was the one in his heart the whole time. It also reveals that it is most likely that he let go of the boat on purpose. Earlier it was said by Wong Hei that he didn't deserve happiness. So he let go, but this is my interpretation of the MV. At the end of the MV Jessica runs out of the sea screaming NO, and Wong Hei is there in the sea and they hold hands. I seen two versions of it, one is a far view of Wong Hei and Jessica side-by-side holding hands in the sea. The other is the close up of the hands; this is significant to the series. The Pity Factor: You can pity almost every single character in the series Kong: For one he has to deal with all the deaths he caused either directly or indirectly, Siu Yau and her whole family, Queenie, his father, and Kwun. And also you pity not only his death but also his life, how he is unable to have happiness. Moon: She loses the man she loves the most, Kong. She nearly is drowned but Kong saved her. You pity her also because of all the things she has done for him. Physically she has endured too much. First getting stabbed with a AIDS infected needle, Falls off the motorcycle leaving a huge gash on her arm, Kong hits her leg with a metal pole breaking her leg and near drowns when Jacky kidnaps her, oh yeah did I mention the two times she had been gassed? But you pity her the most when she loses Kong. Ming and Shan: Ming is pregnant with Shan's child, but he is in prison for an uncertain amount of years. Poor Ming having to raise the child alone with out the father. Also Shan not able to see his child be born or to her the child and also getting so many years in prison. Also Shan who must face the fact that he caused Kwun's death. Heurng Gu: Oh poor Heurng Gu, she is pregnant when she has a one night stand. Her friend, almost sister to her, Queenie dies. Then follows her sister, in the most horrific way. And both around the same time, one blow after another. Kwun: Heurng Gu's sister, she loses her baby when she trips and falls down the hill. Before that Shan forces her to have an abortion. She leaves for 8 years, promised by Shan that he will wait for her. But when she returns he is with Ming. She tries to get back together with Shan but it is no use. Later she finds out Shan's illegal activities, and is captured and tortured by Jacky. She has mercury poured on her cuts, slowly poisoning her. What a horrific way to die. But in the end Kong was the one to end her misery. Sui Yau: At a young age, her father was killed and she suffered metal problems. She falls in love with the cop that killed her father, but does not go in relationship because of her mother. Her father's gay lover kills her mother. She runs away from Kong and starts taking drugs, and dies contracting HIV and positive for AIDS. To see or not to see? This series is worth watching, just skip most of the Liza and Danny scenes and you'll be fine. Jessica and Wong Hei makes up for that. But if you're not into the whole dramatic, emotional rollercoster, I advise you to watch something else. Your heart will break watching this, tears will flood, I used too many tissues watching this series. If you're into that whole category, thumbs up?go rent it!
